The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Cooperation Conference was held in Astana

The Belt and Road Initiative Tax Cooperation Conference (hereinafter abbreviated as "BRITCC"), co-hosted by the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the State Taxation Administration of the People's Republic of China, the OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration and the OECD's Forum of Tax Administration, was held in Astana, Kazakhstan during May 14-16, 2018. Participating in the event, there were more than 200 delegates from 50 tax jurisdictions. The conference delivered the Astana Proposal calling for the official establishment of the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (hereinafter abbreviated as "BRITACʘM") and addressed four aspects of tax cooperation: rule of law, taxpayer services, an effective and efficient dispute-resolution mechanism, as well as the capacity building of tax administrations.
