The China-OECD LLM Programme on Taxation (COTP) was established through co-operation among the State Taxation Administration (STA) of China, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) of China and the Xiamen University (XMU). The program aims to equip tax officials and professionals from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) jurisdictions with cutting-edge knowledge of international tax law, enable them to understand frontier issues and emerging developments in international taxation.
Recently, 34 students of Class 2023 from BRI jurisdictions have successfully completed the autumn semester courses of the program in the National Tax Institute of STA. This semester has set up courses such as transfer pricing, US tax law, and EU tax law. Meanwhile, the COTP organized students to carry out field study in Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces in China, providing opportunities for professional discussion on taxation, face-to-face interactions with businesses and policy consultation, etc.
In the video, journalists from China Taxation News interviewed them, experiencing their stories of the courses and their feelings about BRI.
