In early November 2024, the eighth Tax Administration Theme Day Event was co-hosted by the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary (NTCA) and BRITACOM Secretariat via a virtual seminar and an online exhibition on a dedicated webpage. (For more details, please visit:

As the dedicated webpage warmed up with an online exhibition, showcasing Hungary’s tax policies, tax administration, taxpayer services, and tax incentives for attracting investment and optimizing business through videos and booklets, the virtual seminar of the eighth event was held on 6 November 2024, attracting over 150 representatives from BRITACOM Member Tax Administrations, Observers, the Advisory Board and business entities. Participants were attentive and engaged in extensive exchanges with speakers on key topics and issues during the Q&A session.
During the seminar, Ms. Mónika Váradi, head of Department of International Relations of NTCA, played a pivotal role as the co-host in facilitating the event. Mr. Tibor HORVÁTH, head of the Tax Audit Department of NTCA, provided an overview of the eVAT System in Hungary. Dr. Katalin KANIZSAI, expert at the Insolvency and Enforcement Department of NTCA, presented insights into the Possibilities of Cross-Border Tax Enforcement in Hungary and Innovative Solutions in Claim Management. Dr. Dániel BÁLINT, head of Unit at the Customer Service Department of NTCA, shared on the Contact Centre and Taxpayer Portal of the National Tax and Customs Administration. During the Q&A session that followed presentations, participants had extensive exchanges with speakers on key topics and issues, concerning the themes of the conference presentations, Hungarian tax policies, and tax-related procedures.
The event thoroughly examined Hungary’s taxation mechanisms while providing participants with deep insights into its local tax landscape. This created valuable opportunities for mutual learning among tax administrations, facilitating communication and exchanges between the taxing authorities and taxpayers, which would contribute to the tax environment.
Emerging in 2022 as BRITACOM's flagship event, the Tax Administration Theme Day has forged a unique platform for dialogue between tax administrations and the business community. To date, eight Theme Day Events featuring different regions have been successfully conducted from 2022 to 2024. Looking ahead, we are committed to taking the Tax Administration Theme Day Event to new heights, making further contributions between the taxing and taxed worlds within a growth-friendly framework.
